Hi my weirdos!
I am swamped with assignments, tests and group projects like I am sure most of you students are especially this time of the year. I don’t think I have mentioned in my posts but I am a BSc Computer Science student if you were wondering.
I live on residence so basically my home is also my place of study. With all this stress, all I can think of is my next holiday but where? With the broke life that comes with being a student, it seems improbable. But thanks to TravelStart’s Student Flights page, I might be able to travel much further than my backyard!
TravelStart’s Student Flight page basically guides you to everything you need to know about travelling, best times, places, money tips and guides. Naturally I thought these were for just domestic flights but I was amazed to see it is international flights as well. I lived in Washington D.C. for 13 months so that was the first place I had to search flight prices to. I was shook to see the price.
This is pretty much the cheapest return flight I have found for this particular travel period as well as in general. The page shows you the most popular student travel destinations such as Egypt, Madagascar, Hungary and China. They also have Rand friendly destinations you can read about here and as well as all the information you need on them.
The search tool function is quite efficient and fast. I also looked up some domestic flights and found them to be quite reasonabe if you are travelling within South Africa.
I was fortunate enough to travel before and it was the best experience of my life. I always wondered how some students were walking the streets of Patong while I could barely afford a bagel. I never thought it would be possible to do as a student but I must say TravelStart is making it much easier with their tips and tools which you can read about here. Now we can all be travellers!
The best part about this booking process? You don’t need a credit card. That’s right! Travelstart is an official approved beneficiary at the four main banks in South Africa, so you are able to purchase flight specials or holiday packages with either a cash deposit or debit card. Easy peasy, Travel cushion squeezy.
There are even apps such as Vibe and Flapp which you can download to use for flight discounts. Make sure to have your student card handy at all times.
You never thought this plastic card would help strike you rich but TravelStart has changed the game. The only experience you can buy that makes you richer is travelling.

Thank you TravelStart! I know who to book my next flight with, don’t you?

It’s so cool that they allow one to use a debit card as opposed to other online travel sites that are strictly credit card only.

I LOVE this! The information is so proper and your writing is really good. Look out for my post about Travel Start later today 🙂
Thank you! Means a lot. Will lookout for it.
This is such beautiful motivation to travel, eliminating excuses that students make. we should all travel & see all the world while we’re young and not so committed to things. Awesome tips
Yes I highly recommend travel for everyone but especially younger people.
