Hi weirdos,
I have been meaning to do an empties post for a while now. Although most of these products are not make up items, they have been some of my favouritesΒ for a while but the question is whether I am repurchasing or not? Trash items are ones I will not repurchase, stash items are ones I will repurchase.
- Neutrogena – Deep Clean daily scrub
I am not sure why I didn’t use this product consistently from the get go but once I did I really felt the difference on my skin. It does exactly what it says controls shine for up toΒ 8 hours and clears away oil build up. I used this every day and my skin loved it. I had little to no blackheads and my pores were not clogged. I am always trying out new products and switching my skin care so this lasted forever. It seems Neutrogena has a new product similar to this but not this one exactly. I have used a deep clean face wash by them as well which I love. Unfortunately, Neutrogena is not cruelty-free so it gets the trash. I wish they were because they have amazing products at Clicks. Sigh.
2. Sh’zen Serenity Cleansing Wash
This product has essential oils rosewood, jasmine, sandalwood, bergamot and black pepper. It did feel great on the skin but I could not stand the strong scent. Although it does have a calming and soothing effect on the skin, it’s a trash item for me. I am not that particular about fragrances but strong ones get to me. Also, this finished so quickly, it’s only a 100ml. I am uncertain of the cost but you could find out from a Sh’zen consultant.
3.Β Avon Advanced Techniques 360 Nourishment Moroccan Argan Oil
A mouthful of a name, but this has actually been a staple for the past 2 years. My family uses it and insisted I use it for my bush baby hair and well, well, well, what do you know? It works like a charm! Seriously, I can wash my warm and just leave it to dry on its own and it will look shiny and feel soft. It is infused with argan oil and did wonders for my dry hair. It is quite concentrated so a little goes a long way. The conditioner that pairs with it is awesome too. Note that this is the old packaging. I use a hair masque which you see about hereΒ and argan oil you will see below. Compared to other shampoos for this price (R54.90 currently) I think it is a bargain. Alas, as we all know Avon test on animals this gets the trash. *Shreaks” in fear of bad hair days.
4.Β Avon Advanced Techniques 360 Nourishment Moroccan Argan Oil
If you have used this product you know this is a life saver for your baie droog(Afrikaans for very dry for my foreign readers) hair. It absorbs pretty quickly into the hair and gives it the moisture it needs. You can see it is almost at its very last drops, for good reason! This argan oil smells amazing and keeps the hair shiny. It does last quite a long time as it is quite rich. They have a buy one get one free at Avon this month so for R94.90 you can get two serums. They have shelf lives of 12 months. Winner! Of course, for the reason above I will need to find an alternative. *sings:Β where have all the good hair days gone? *
5. Pink Cosmetics Yummy Lip scrub
This product needs no introduction. If you follow me you know I am mad about it! For winter you know this is in my stash! I already have a new one. Read more about this lip scrubΒ here.Β I have a few ride or dies, this is one, cruelty-free, as all Pink Bath products.
6.Β Dove Anti-Perspirant Roll-On
This product does not keep you fresh for that long. It also has that white residue and I don’t really like the feel of it as it feels abit sticky. I am trying a new product as this is already in the trash by the time you read this. You may find this works for you, I mean not everything works the same for everybody. It is R20 at Clicks if you are interested.
7. Hush Hair Removing Creme
If you are in a hurry or like me, a non-tolerant to pain kinda person this is for you! It works so well, you apply, leave on for a few minutes, wipe off and then done! No moustache Dee anymore! You can use it on other areas, make sure to do a patch test first. It has no strong smell and really works in 3-5 minutes on the face as it suggests. Thanks to my aunt and mom for this suggestion! For R59.95 at Dischem, it’s a no brainer. I am still trying to figure out if this brand is cruelty free however. I will stash it until then.
That’s it for my first empties- trash/stash post. Let me know if you would like more of these? Have you used any of these products?
