Pink Cosmetics Facial mist + Body Butter review

Hi weirdos,
Wow! I just realised that this month marks my 6th month blogiversary! Also, announcing my first giveaway winner today! 6 months may be a short time for many bloggers out there, but if I look at everything I have learnt and accomplished thus far I cannot help but smile. This drives me to work even harder and I thank you all once again for the constant support and feedback. What better way to celebrate 6 months than posting about my favourite online beauty store? If you are new to my blog search for Pink Cosmetics and several posts should appear.
Pink Cosmetics sent me their Facial mist and Body Butter quite some time ago, I do apologize for sleeping on this much-requested review. As you can see from the pictures I have definitely not been sleeping on these products. In fact, they are part of my everyday routine, read on to discover why…
Before I review the facial mist, many people have answered me the difference between a facial mist and a setting spray, let me explain the difference. A setting spray usually contains alcohol and is used after applying makeup to hold your makeup in place and make it last longer. A facial mist is a refreshing/hydrating spray that can be used before make up application(like a toner) and after as well as during the day to keep the skin feeling and looking hydrated as well as refreshed.

Price: R80 for 100ml.

Benefits off ingredients:

Rose water

  1. Aids in maintaining your skin’s pH balance.
  2. Fights acne, dermatitis and eczema.(I do have eczema)
  3. Hydrates and moisturizes the skin.
  4. Helps to heal scars, cuts, and wounds.
  5. Cools the skin.
  6. Helps to tone the skin and has anti-bacterial properties.

Aloe vera(Aloe barbadensis leaf juice)

  1. It’s an anti-inflammatory and effective skin moisturizer
  2. Treats sunburn.
  3. Suitable for all skin types, dry, damaged, sensitive and irritated skin.(yay!)
  4. Anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-itch qualities for skin.
  5. High in natural vitamins.(need some extra vitamins?)
  6. High water content, hydrates and rejuvenates skin.

Witch hazel

  1. Helps to fight acne.
  2. Nourishes dry skin
  3. Reduces puffy eyes(y’all know the struggle!)
  4. Relieves discomfort from sunburn.
  5. Minimizes damage from sun exposure.(Winter sun bye!)
  6. Fight sights of aging.

My experience with the Facial Mist: Once I apply this spray onto my skin it feels instantly cooler, hydrated and tighter. I often apply some onto a cotton pad and use it as a toner. It gets rids of excess oils on the face and makes it feel refreshed. I use it before applying makeup and after applying makeup as rose water tends to be a good finishing spray(blends powders together, preventing cakeyness). I also wet my beauty blender with it when I am too lazy to use water(lowkey conserving water in Cape Town.) It just fits into my handbag to carry around when I go out and need that extra pick me up. If you find your foundation cakey or face getting dry, this will help with that! I love the smell! The only downside is when it sprays it does go everywhere but it’s very fine so it’s not a train smash. If you are in the market for a facial mist or a toner this is highly recommended!

Delicious and decadently thick, but not greasy, indulge your skin with this treat. Completely paraben free and sulphate free. No petrochemicals.”
Ingredients: Ingredients – Aloe barbadensis leaf juice (Aloe) , Aqua (Water), Glycerine, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil (Macadamia),Oryza Sativa oil (Ricebran) , Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter), Cetyl Alcohol (emulsifier), Behenitromium methosulphate, (emulsifier),Phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin (preservatives), Fragrance/essential oils, May contain mica for shimmer.
Price: R100 for 130grams.

My experience with the Body Butter: This is a super rich moisturizing body butter.(So pigmented!OH MY GAWD!) If you watch Youtube beauty reviews you will get it. It smells divine, I have the fragrance Sirena Noir, Inspired by Elie Saab. It comes in two other fragrances. I use this every single day and it has really helped with my insanely dry eczema prone skin. I carry it everywhere and make everyone I see use it because I love it so much! It is truly nourishing and creamy, a little goes a long long way. With ingredients such as shea butter and oils, it keeps your skin feeling soft and silky smooth. I can apply in the morning and by the evening my skin is still looking good and feeling nourished. This has definitely replaced my Bodyshop body butter which used to be my favourite. For winter this is a staple but it is not greasy so it will be fine for summer too. You can see how little of a dent I made in it even though I use it every day for the past 2 months and it fits into my hang bag too!

Overall thoughts: If you are in the market for a toner/facial mist that won’t dry out your skin then this is affordable and I do recommend it! The body butter is definitely one of my favourites products at the moment and you won’t regret purchasing it. It does not aggravate or irritate my eczema which is small patches around my arms and elbows, it keeps it from getting dry or itchy. These are cruelty-free and vegan products(yay!) Goodbye dry winter skin!
