Hi weirdos,
Welcome to my new site! It’s been a while since I have done a beauty review so I wanted to round up my top 5 products from Dermalogica. They have since released a few products which I am currently testing so watch out for those reviews. Some of these has been so great that I had to repurchase; well also because Nikesh uses all of them! You probably have seen my other Dermalogica reviews on my blog and know how much I love this brand. So lets’ get into it…
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

The Daily Microfoliant is a rice based exfoliator that is gentle enough for all skin types. Appearing as a white powder that you place the palm of your hands and add a few drops of water to it. It then becomes a scrubby paste that releases papain, salicylic acid and rice enzymes. This product micro-exfoliates the dead skin cells on your skin leaving it smoother and brighter. Also contains green tea, ginkgo and colloidal oatmeal that helps to calm the skin, leaving it extraordinarily clear and refreshed.
Daily microfoliant helps with dull and uneven skin tone and is gentle enough to use every day. I generally use it 1-2 times a week. This was purchased this in the meet Dermalogica kit but since it has finished I purchased the Daily Superfoliant in the travel size. The packaging is simple and has small holes to release product. 13g travel size retails for R299 and the full size is R1099 for 74g.

Dermalogica active moist is a light-weight moisturiser is non-greasy and oil-free. It’s gel like formulation hydrates the skin quite well and it’s easy to apply. Containing silk amino acids which are penetrating and moisturizing to skin. It also helps prevent dehydration of the skin. Other ingredients are natural botanical astringents of lemon, cucumber and burdock to help to refine the skin.
Nikesh and I both used this for about 3 months continuously every night. It’s best suited to combination skin types. I think Nikesh loves this more than me! This product was sent to me but I definitely want to repurchase it. It has a tube packaging that is convenient for travel. Retails for R1099 for 100ml.

Vitamin c serums are known to be super beneficial skin to the skin. They helps brighten, reduce unbalanced pigmentation and protect from free radical damage from the sun. Dermalogica’s biolumin-c serum has ultra-stable Vitamin C and Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, helping to dramatically reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I have written a blog post on how much I love this product because it really works so well. You can read that here.
This was received as part of a goodie bag at the launch. It is my favourite serum containing vitamin c because it shows results. Biolumin-c serum retails for R1599 for 30ml.
Dermalogica Special Cleansing gel
Special mention for a special product indeed as the name suggests. It is a soap-free, foaming gel cleanser that works brilliantly to remove the skins impurities. It does so gently without disrupting your skins natural moisture balance or stripping away natural oils. Special cleansing gel contains calming balm mint and lavender extracts that soothe the skin, while natural Quillaja saponaria gently foams away toxins and debris.
I love the scent and how it cleanses without leaving my skin feeling tight. I use this in the second step of my double cleanse. It is best suited to oily/combination skin as well as acne prone skin as it is free of fragrance or artificial colourants. I bought this in the meet Dermalogica kit. The travel size is R215 for 50ml and the full size is R929 for 500ml.
Dermalogica Oil Free Matte spf30

I have to admit I never really cared much for SPF’s until a couple of years ago. I do really think it is a struggle to find one that doesn’t have a white tinge and doesn’t make me feel too oily or greasy. When I first tried this I knew this was the one! As it’s oil free, non-greasy, sheer and does not have a white tinge. It has oil-absorbers that help keep your skin shine free. Regulating oil production and soothing inflammation is what makes this such a great SPF for my skin.
Dermalogica oil free matte spf30 retails for R879 for 50ml. You use quite a small amount so it will last long. This was received in PR.
Dermalogica products can be found online https://www.dermalogica.co.za/ and in their stores. You will also find them in selected spas and Sorbet stores.
