Hi weirdos
Strange I call you weirdos..? If you are new to my blog I suggest reading the first paragraph of a post here which explains it. This week has been great, since it was short I think the weekend being closer just makes the week go quicker. Packaging:
This is the perfect travel size item to get that smokey eye on-the-go or switch up between night and day. I love almost anything that is “mini” sized. It comes in a black velvet finish magnetic pan which feels smooth and luxurious. Bonus points for having a mirror inside, girls who do their make up in the car(while someone else is driving) you don’t need that sun visor. The pan sizes are double the size than that of the Lorac Pro palette, there’s bang for your buck. The only downside is that it can get dirty easily but you can wipe it down.
My experience with the Lorac Pocket Pro palette:
Let’s be honest, I want the Lorac Pro palette but got this apart of a bundle for half the price so I thought why not test the quality of these shadows. When you open this palette you find these 3 gorgeous neutral eye shades. It is small of course, hence the term “pocket pro.”
These shades are so neutral they match with everything. I must admit they look quite different in the pan to when I apply them. They look even better on my skin. Upon swatching them, I found them to be buttery and very pigmented. It is quite silky in texture, it was a little too silky causing it be a little slippery to blend at times. Overall, they were easy to work with.
The shades are “Nude” which is a light shimmery gold, “Pewter” a bronze shimmer and “Expresso” a dark chocolate matte. I usually use expresso in the crease of my eyelid, pewter in the middle and nude for the inner corner. It definitely creates the perfect smokey eye but can be use differently. Each shade has a rich colour payoff, I am quite impressed with the pigment in these shadows.
What is even more amazing with this particular palette is the fact that they can be used for more than just your eyelids. Nude is the perfect shade for highlighting your cheek bones, it is super shiny so blend it out well. Expresso can be used to fill in your brows and as a liquid eyeliner if you use with water. Talk about an all in one palette! If you are anything like me and always on the move, this palette is everything, pop it in your bag and go!
I always use a wet brush when using these shadows as I usually use it when going out at night and I really like eyes to “pop.” You can apply with your fingers as well but I prefer a brush. They are really rich pigments so start off with a little and then add more if needed.
Overall thoughts:
These colours are a neutral lovers best friend. Not to mention the travel size and versatility of the palette is quite remarkable. There are no negatives about this mini palette. What I can say though is that you can get the Lorac Pro Palette for R950 and it contains these 3 shades. But if you are looking for something for travelling or a beginner then I recommend this. A full 10/10 rating in my books. What I like most about it is that it is not intimidating since it contains 3 shadows. You know where each shade goes and how it can be used differently. It literally never leaves my make up bag, you can tell from how used it looks. Here is a look created only with the palette below.
You can purchase this from www.pinkcosmetics.co.za. Don’t forget to use “missdhanusha” when checking out for 10% off. This product was purchased by me.
