Hello my fabulous weirdos,
I hope you had a great weekend. I had a great time at the V & A Waterfront, I finally checked out Wellness Warehouse, shopped around and took some tourist pictures. I always feel like a tourist when I am in Cape Town even though I live here. My current new favourite series “Big little lies” just came to a season ending and wow just wow, this show had me glued from the beginning. Its been a while since something has had me engrossed, I am hoping for a season 2. What would you think about a post about it? Let me know in the comments.
I generally tend to dread the weekend as I know at some point I need to wash my hair, somehow set it – straighten or curl. If you are the lazy perfectionist like me, you leave it to dry and hope for the best, which ends up in a messy hair bun. But my hair is super thick, frizzy and just untameable. I use a hair iron sometimes and do not use a heat protectant (don’t judge me, they literally feel like my hair is burning when I use them). My hair is also bleached and coloured, so there is damage.
I am a huge fan of coconut oil, I use it for everything, I even eat it. As you may know it is difficult to wash out of your hair and I came across Pink Cosmetics Conditioning Hair Masque which uses coconut oil a couple of months back and Janet had sent it to me with one of my orders. I am going to review this masque today and conclude my reviews on Pink Cosmetics for a while 🙂 but I have something very exciting at the end of my post…

Packaging:
It comes in a beautifully designed 250ml plastic jar. This is a huge amount of product! The lid twists of and you can find the ingredients listed on the label around it. Ingredients are so important for the consumer and if you find any product that doesn’t list ingredients I do not suggest you use it until you know the ingredients, especially if you have allergies. It is travel friendly and convenient. The smell is amazing, I have the lemongrass mint essential oils masque.
Ingredients(from label):
Distilled Water, Aloe gel, Behentrimonium Methosulfate(naturally derived), Cetearyl Alcohol, Argania Spinosa(Argan) Kernel Oil, Olea Europea(Olive) Fruit Oil; cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, Hydrolyzed protein, Plant extracts, Essential/Fragrance oils, Penthenol, Cyclomethicone, Cetrimonium chloride. Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexyglycerin (Paraben free preservative)
How to use:
First shampoo and rinse your hair as normal then apply the masque, comb through all the hair strands with your fingers, leave on for 3-5 minutes then rinse through thoroughly. Depending on the level of damage your hair has you can leave on for longer. Also note as this is should be used within 6 months.
My thoughts on the Conditioning hair masque:
The first time I used this, I left it overnight because this is what I would do with coconut oil and my hair needed some TLC. I was amazed at how it washed out pretty easily the next day unlike my coconut oil that only felt clean after 3 washes. The smell has me dazed, I think I just kept smelling my own hair like that creepy guy from Charlie’s Angel who would cut woman’s hair off just to smell it, am I giving away my age here? My hair felt nourished and soft. It was less frizzy and more shiny. It was also more manageable, less thicker and less wavier than usual. This was when I knew this masque was pure magic. The girl with the messy hair was no more. I continued to use it every week or so and over time I feel the overall condition of my hair improving.
My overall thoughts:
I would give this product a 10/10. I have used many different brands that claim to do the same thing but lose their effectiveness with every use however this continues to make my hair healthier and stronger as well as shinier. I love that it is paraben, sulfate and petrochemical free. I have eczema on my hair line and this masque has not affected it or made it worse. My scalp is also very dry. The products claims to be suitable for it and it is. I am so pleased with this hair masque and I definitely recommend it. It is R115 which is quite an affordable price for the amount of product. Be sure to rinse it off properly.
